    COVID-19 Affecting Your Plans?

I can't speak for Grant Teton, but in Yellowstone this time of year there are only a few roads even open. So, while there aren't as many tourists, the few that are there only have so many places to go. And this time of year you can't really get out and hike to spread out either. So, I think a...

    Backcountry bookshelf

Just came back to suggest Endurance and see a couple others have suggested it too. When it was recommended to me I didn't think it would be something I'd be interested in, but I was hooked! Great book!

    COVID-19 Affecting Your Plans?

I think, in the long run, this is going to fundamentally change how a lot of companies do business, I'm especially thinking about companies allowing remote work. I know that doesn't apply to some businesses, but I think this is going to really push more workers to work from home.

    COVID-19 Affecting Your Plans?

Here is something similar. I like it, though, because it also shows adjusted for population. I believe if you click through to Reddit they have been updating it daily.

    COVID-19 Affecting Your Plans?

Yeah, my wife and I are also reconsidering plans we had to expand her business. At this point, she'll be lucky to keep the doors open. I think we can weather a few months, but not much longer. I already know some businesses that have said they probably won't be able to reopen.

    COVID-19 Affecting Your Plans?

Yep, and the Fed is basically out of options now that they've already dropped rates to near 0%. To see the way the market has reacted to that tells me we are nowhere near finding a bottom.

    COVID-19 Affecting Your Plans?

Not backcountry related, but this virus did force my wife and I to cancel a trip last weekend to Vegas. It just wasn't worth the risk. The crazy thing is that it took me 4 straight days of calling the airline to try and cancel my flights. I finally got through on a number someone posted on...

    Guess the spot

I have wanted to go back to Hilgard Basin ever since the last time I was there and turned back just short of Echo Peak. Awesome area, i'll have to check out that Lightning Lake area sometime, too! Didn't mean to highjack your turn. :)

Need suggestions for a backpacking trip with a base camp

Check out the Beartooths in Montana. You could base camp at somewhere like the Lake Plateau or Aero Lakes and have endless lakes to dayhike to and fish.
