Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail

I never commented on this when the thread was first around, but here are my thoughts. I bought this book was it was first released. I really liked it at the beginning and I was reading through it quickly. Than towards the end it was hard to finish. I commence her on going and completing this...

    Water Bottle Survey

If I'm backpacking I usually carry one nalgene and anything else is a disposable plastic bottle.

    Water Bottle Survey

My friends say my nalgenes are a part of me as I'm always carrying one. Even when I commute by bike I take my nalgene because I like drinking out of it more. I wish they'd solve my dilemma and make a water bottle for bike holders.

    Christmas 2013

I got a gopro hero 3. My parents gave it to me and told me they want to see some footage from my adventures. It'll benefit the both of us. I never considered it a vital thing to have, but now that I have one I'm looking forward to having some fun with it. Now to just wait for my memory card to...

    Winter Storm In the Narrows

Amazing! Now that I think about it, yours was the comment I saw on one of KSL's Facebook post. I had a friend down in Zion who started hiking Observation Point yesterday. They decided to turn around at one point only to have to dig through numerous avalanches that had fallen on their way back...

    Plant Identification Resource

Not quite sure, but it seems as if it could be in the phlox family (maybe just alpine phlox). This is just from me looking a bit in my book (still new to learning flowers) and comparing with pictures online. I can try and ask my biology professor next week too (he's a botanist by trade).

    Crowd-Funded Travel - Trevolta

Yeah I joined because I'm going interested in seeing how it works out. I think people could get money if they got to see a trip report or updates during the trip. I think someone will have to be well known on social media to really get a good sponsor.

    Fence, Neon, Ringtail

You should! I'm going to have to take an outdoor class for my major when I transfer to the UofU. Let me tell you I'm disappointed having to spend time outside instead of sitting in a class all semester, what a horrible thought. The hardest part will be trying to decide what class to take.

How can I fix a hole in the bottom of my daypack?

Duct tape works wonders. When I was in Russia with my sister one of our suitcases got a giant hole in it. Luckily we'd packed duct tape with us so we covered the entire bottom of the suitcase with it (inside and out) . We still use it for other trips too.

    Hiking clubs

I hike with Meetup.com fairly often. One group I hike with varies on distance and pace etc. but are consistent in hiking on a weekly basis. Other Meetup.com groups vary from outing but will usually post location of hike/pace so I know what I'm signing up for. Age varies but honestly it...
