    conditions at Buckskin Gulch ?

    I have a feeling I may have answered your question on tripadvisor Carlos ;) I was there mid-June, although only went about halfway through before turning round (no time/shuttle vehicle for through hike). What I saw was bone dry, not a drop of water in sight & it looked like it had been that way...

    Marmot Problem?

    Although not in the Mineral King area, I was in Kings Canyon just 2 weeks ago and there were Marmots all over the place and not at all scared of us humans. The precautions shown in that pic do seem kinda crazy but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do!

    Bumping this thread back to the top, as i've had an itching recently to pick up a good book on Glen Canyon and looking for any recommendations. A bit of history on the area would be awesome but i'd love to see any great old photography of the area if possible. At the moment it's a toss up...

    sad news from the Wave.

    Thankfully not another death, but seems an elderly gentleman took a fall and ended up spending two nights out in Coyote Buttes. Given that he wasn't spotted by hikers for two days he seemingly took a fairly significant wrong turn somewhere...
