Sorry just saw this. Depends on where you saw it...but as Miss Buffalo said it looks like a desert spiny lizard or more specifically the orange-headed spiny lizard-Sceloporus magister cephaloflavus. If you were in Washington county it would be the Yellow-backed Spiny Lizard-Sceloporus uniformis. They can look very similar so it comes down to location.
Well, it was down in Tuckup canyon which is a tributary to the Colorado down deep from the north rim of Grand Canyon National Park. I'm guessing about 2500' in elevation.

Oh, I was just assuming it was in Utah... its an orange-headed spiny lizard

With respect, to help Dave out, it is Taxidea taxus. The Badger. A fierce creature for it's size. I wonder where he took this capture of Old Mud Face. I have seen them on high in the meadows in the Winds approaching treeline and in the drainages of the Weber river in Utah. They are really fierce for their size but never personally threatened me :) This one almost looks cute..

Fantastic photo. Dave had a great caption on FB. What was it Dave?

What happened with the moose charging you?!
Well, lets just say we got a little closer than we should have! I guess she felt threatened, and decided to charge. It didn't help that we were in snwoshoes, and as I tried to run away I tripped and fell! Luckily she realized we weren't much of a threat and backed off. I'll never forget that one!!
