The wife and I drove up to the park yesterday and did a short hike followed by a drive over Old Fall River road. Beautiful day with most of the cursed wildfire smoke seeming to have blown somewhere else for once.
We started at Bear Lake and walked a few miles up to Emerald Lake. The trail takes you past a series of small alpine lakes with Hallet and Flattop growing larger in the background as you climb up.
This is Nymph Lake, which is really more of a pond.
Hallet Peak looming over the outflow from Dream Lake:
And Dream Lake:
Emerald Lake was littered with people so it wasn't possible to get a shot worth keeping.
Not a bad hike though it was the usual Bear Lake zoo by the time we got back down to the lot. Soooo many people, but nearly all being well behaved.
