The trail starts at Hoop Lake on the north slope of the Uintas. To reach the trail, head east on I-80 into Wyoming. Take exit 34 towards Fort Bridger, WY, and after a few miles turn right on Highway 414 towards Mountain View. Mountain View is your last chance for gas or food. Stay on 414 for about 23 miles until just past the small community of Lonetree, WY. Turn right (south) on the road signed for Hoop Lake and follow the signs to Hoop Lake.
