HELP NEEDED- Idaho in Early June for 2-3 Days

My son and his friends graduate from high school in two weeks and want to backpack around the first week of June for 2-3 days. We live in Idaho Falls. My guess is that he would need to plan on driving a few hours west or south due to snow pack. Any suggestions?
 
Was thinking maybe Snake River Trail 102 or Seven Devils Loop but I do t have experience in that area.
 
I did Seven Devils in mid-July back in 2010 and there was still one spot on the loop that had enough snow to require a dicey climb on scree to get over it. I'd expect early June to be pretty snow-deep.
 
It looks like he is dead set on Sawtooth Lake from Iron Creek trail head.
 
Even looking at that causes me pain. I bet they had the place almost entirely to themselves!

They made it to Alpine Lake, spent the night and came back. They didn’t go to Sawtooth Lake.
