Coban Tape

I was at REI today looking to replenish and expand my first aid kit in anticipation of a long trip this summer. I ran across a roll of Cohere tape, which seemed like it might be useful, though I'm not exactly clear on all of its possible uses. Red Cross first aid training that I'm required to attend at my work annually made no mention of it. For instance, I'm thinking of adding a roll of elastic bandage to the first aid kit. Can the cohere tape serve the same role as the elastic bandage?

Looks the same as Coban...just another name. No elastic is stiffer, stretchier. This is for covering dressings, like a 4x4s....
You can get cheaper Coban if you look under Vet Wrap....same stuff.
