Birthday shopping!!!

When I moved to Colorado my BFF sent me a generous REI gift card. I have been holding onto it with plans of buying winter hiking boots. I knew they would be pricey but worth it. So for 5 months I have held onto this card. Then, this week my parents sent a combination Birthday/Moving to CO check. Wednesday is my birthday and REI is having a big sale this week plus a 20% a full price item for members coupon. So shopping I went yesterday!!! I am the proud new owner of some Vasque 400gm Thinsulate hiking boots. Sure to keep this Florida girl's feet warm this winter on the trails and highly recommended for snow shoeing. Some MSR Trail snowshoes, some micro spikes for the icy trails and new trekking poles. WooHoo!! Bring on the snow!

Good stuff!! I have my MSR snowshoes for years right now and love them.
Can't wait to hear about the boots, I'm still looking for a good and warm pair of winter boots.
