I was kind of planning to avoid Powell in July and August due to potential crowds and oppressive heat. What a bad idea that was. Just got back from a 5-day birthday trip of pure bliss out there. 100 degrees with 80 degree water with the monsoons firing up and providing plenty of awesome sunsets and sunrises. Yum.

Woohoo, my first night out for the year. This is kind of embracing.

A good friend and I spent the night at Ruth Lake. Not too many crowds considering it was a weekend. He had brain surgery two years ago and still struggles a bit with controlling his right leg, so it had to be something relatively easy, Ruth lake fit the bill nicely. Plus wow, it really is a nice area, no wonder it's so busy.
