Wind River - Looking for fish (of the Golden variety)

Probably a little late now but I have contacted the Pinedale and Lander Fish and Game offices by email in the past and they have always given me good information about fish species in lakes there in the Wind River range.

    Windy Lake - Wind Rivers

I went up that road a few years back on ATVs. I'm impressed your Jeep made it that far. It gets really nasty after the Gustave outlet. Get into any Gold while you were up there? The creek between Christina and Windy was full of them when we were there. Some decent fish in Windy too.

    Kids/Child Sleeping Bag ??

Whatever bag you get, make sure it can either be secured to a sleeping pad or that the sleeping pad can be used inside the bag. My 3 year old moves all over the place when he sleeps and the first time I took him out he kept rolling off the pad and waking up because he got cold. I finally ended...

    Flashlights, Lighters, and Multi-Tools

This is the torch I use while camping/baclpacking. It is unbelievably bright for how small it is. Runs on a 18650 battery so run time is great. It can also zoom/focus the light if you need to spotlight something at a distance...

    Fishing Gear.

It sounds like you definitely want to stick with a spinning rod combo. Since you are wanting to keep it under $100 and are just getting back into fishing. I grew up using a spinning rod combo in the Uinta lakes. I would try and find a nice 2 or 3 piece spinning rod from a reputable company. My...

    Running High and Muddy

A couple buddies and I headed up to the Clearwater a few weekends ago to chase some Steelhead. The water had spiked to over 3000 cfs and the river was crazy high, swift, and really off color. Looked like mocha. We usually wait and fish the river when it is well under 1000 cfs but one of the guys...

    Boatpacking Lees Ferry

Been a while since I've posted a trip on here. A couple buddies and I took an overnight fishing trip down to the Lees Ferry area of the Colorado River to escape the cold in January. We launched our boat at Lees Ferry and motored up to our campsite which was located on the famous horseshoe bend...
