Day 1

Stopped to pick up Scatman at the Willow Creek TH...... In a huge downpour........ Indicator of things to come?!
Met Dreamer in Daniel Junction and dropped his truck at end of road in Horse canyon (he could only go 5 nights)
Grabbed some lunch at the Daniel Bar & Grill....... Headed out, in pouring rain and muddy roads.
Got to the TH at Straight Creek..... wait half hour for it to stop...... Yes thats new snow on the peaks

Undaunted we waited till the rain quit?! Hopped out, geared up and headed out........

At about 8100 ft we stated hitting snow patches, at about 9800 ft the patches were getting larger. Dreamer charging uphill in the snow, before we gave up with cold feet and turned around to find a drier campsite and to regroup.......

Next day headed out in nice weather .....IMG_0261.JPG

Sunny!

Decided to drop my truck with Dreamers in Horse Canyon and try to make it out to the Scatmobile 5 days away, across hopefully less snow as it is a little lower in elevation. Pics on the drive ( a shortcut I saw on the map)....

That muddy horse trail at the end is tiring me out just looking at it @Bob. :D Great report and pictures. I'm slowly going through my shots and choosing the ones for my report.

I was pleasantly surprised by this trip. I didn't know much about the range heading in, but will definitely want to go back and finish the southern half when there is less snow.

By the way, my feet are still recovering from this one. :)

Great trip! Tough to beat that scenery. Looks like a heap of boot prints in that mud for just 3 people. At least there weren't any face plants in it! Hope everyone brought enough dry socks.

Haha.... Not boot prints.... Hoof prints, too deep for us to walk in it

Outstanding! Loved Pickle Pass and Cliff Creek Falls one trip too. Been a long time since I've been down there. Roosevelt Meadows had many elk one July in the way back. Thanks for taking me back some years.
