It's easy to post photos on Backcountrypost that are already uploaded to Flickr. Here's how to do it.

Go to the photo on your Flickr page and click on the share button above the photo. Select the size you would like to share; Large works best on backcountrypost, Medium also works well. Make sure you select the button for BBCode. HTML will not work.

Copy the code from the Flickr share box and paste into your post on Backcountrypost.

The result when you click 'Preview' or 'Create Thread' will look like this:

If you'd rather not have the photo title information under each photo, just delete the bottom two lines of the link as highlighted below:

And your photos will appear as if you uploaded them directly, like this:

Just a reminder. If you toggle the privacy setting on your Flickr photos, you will break the link and we'll all be sad to see something like this instead of your beautiful photos. :(

This is definitely why uploading your photos directly to BackcountryPost is the best method, but if you really like linking them to places like Flickr, just keep this in mind. It sucks to go check out a thread just to see a bunch of broken image links.

Another reminder that if you post from Flickr and then delete, replace or change privacy settings on a photo, it breaks it here on BCP and things start looking ugly. I'm thinking we'll start deleting posts like this unless anyone requests that we just send you a quick note to fix your link. Posting photos from Flickr is easy but it's definitely not the best way to post pics because of this. :( Uploading directly is the best option.
