Lazy because first of all the trail is only 1.6 mile in and out. And secondly because I'm going to let a video do most of my talking. (Rather me do a lot of typing.)
Pioneer Mothers Memorial Forest is part of the Hoosier National Forest. It's only 88 acres big. It's never been logged. The settlers made there way to Indiana back in the early 1800s. One family bought this land and it stayed in that family until the 1940s. When it went up for public auction some people raised enough money buy and then put it in some sort of trust to leave it in it's natural state. So it's some of the oldest growth in all of Indiana. The trail is only .8 miles in one direction and then you turn around and go back. It's a couple of hours from my home so I've not had the chance to hike it before today.
I was down in Paoli Indiana doing some work and this trail was 3 miles away from my job. So on my lunch break I went over and hiked and took a fair amount of photos and videos.
