Thought I'd start a thread where members can post killer deals as they come across them. This is the same GPS I use. On sale at Amazon on Lightning Deal for $144. I think I spent like $350 a couple years back. It's 89% claimed right now so it probably won't be available for much longer.

I have my eyes on a gravity filter, particularly the MSR one if anyone sees it on super sale in the next few weeks. :)

So what is on everyone's gear wish list this year? Like I said above, I've got my eye on a gravity filter, but strangely there isn't really any other outdoor gear I'm dying for and it feels really really weird. I need ideas!

No sign of the MSR, but Amazon will be having a sale on the LifeStraw tomorrow. Nick, I know how much you liked your first one, so maybe you should get another and see if with two they suck twice as much! :)

Holy crap, I just went and looked at it (currently on deal BTW), and it has a 4.5 star average review with over 400 reviews! I am completely blown away. Maybe I got a bad one??

I upgraded a lot of my gear throughout the year with different sales.
There is not much left what I really need.
Sorry @Nick, I'm in the same boat. :)

The only really cool stuff would be a fly fishing rod for my upcoming backpacking trips next year. This year in the Uintas I so often wished I had the gear with all the fish rising to the surface. Sigh....

awesome!!!
Do I need a 7ft or 12ft rod?

They offer the set with a 12ft rod, I'm really tempted to buy this one.
I simply hope to use it is easy to learn :)
I never fished in my entire life beside the few fishes I captured by hand

Got a new fly reel and line, still waiting for stove from REI to go on sale sometime(not in any hurry). That's about it for me gear wise this year.

Well, shoot...I was planning to buy a Tenkara rod this spring after you let me use yours, @Nick. Now I guess I need to buy it today.

But I'm about to be homeless in a week, and I just realized as I was checking out that I don't know where to have it shipped to!

Oh yeah! What are you going to do with a Tenkara in the south anyway?! You just need your fingers down there to go noodlin', right? :p

Yeah, totally!

Well, I may not be moving...but if I do, I'll be spending 3 weeks a year out here playing!

I'm glad I'm not a collector of anything...it'll probably mean I can retire earlier!

The Lifestraw is on lightning deal right now for $14. I hated mine, but judging by the other reviews, I'm starting to think I got a bad one, or didn't use it right.
