Gaia GPS - CarPlay integration is now live !

Interesting. Would be nice to be able to use it for car navigation where cell signal is weak. Google maps usually does a good job of downloading if I map a route ahead of time.
 
ok, I have been trying to test the new CarPlay feature.

Pls. note, currently the "turn by turn directions" only works for a (drivable) ROUTE you created a head of time (use driving, not hiking).
"Turn by turn directions" do NOT work for a TRACK (like a previously recorded GPS track or a downloaded GPS track).

Total number of devices sold is irrelevant. Gaia install base per platform, iOS vs. Android user engagement, cost to implement feature and customer demand are.

Point is, they're missing out on a very large market and may in fact lose market share because of it. Just because Gaia's install base leans Apple doesn't mean Android users in the future won't look to install it, but pass due to its choice to not support the platform.
