This part of our trip to Idaho last week. Craters of the Moon is a National Monument in Idaho. It is a series of tubes and caves carved out 2,000 years ago. There is a large lava field covered in volcanic rock. Because we had little kids, and I was carrying a child carrying backpack, we could only do Indian Cave and didn't feel like we could handle the entrance to the Boy Scout Cave.

It was a good time, and a easy introduction to caving for my kids. If you are in the area, I'd strongly recommend doing Black Magic canyon (about an hour way toward Twin Falls).

My daughter's favorite camping spot. The Jr. Ranger program is cool and comes with a sweet badge.

(Sorry it is rotated on my phone then changes when posted)

We didn't camp at the Park because it was so windy and loud. Is it usually a VERY windy place?
Yes. It sucks but my daughter loves it because it was one of her first camping trips when she was young. Now we have to go camp there every year. The other place we go for my son is Warm River near Ashton. Watch out for the skunks! There are 5-6 in the camp ground.

i like this place. nice job getting them out.

awesome! I've never been but with my boys it sounds like a lot of fun, love seeing trip reports with kids!
