This trip was fun regardless of how things turned out.

A few of my buddies from my LDS mission came down to southern Utah from that dreaded northern Utah lookin' for an adventure. I suggested we do Fat Man's as an overnight, but one informed me of a bummed knee and I then switched to a much easier on the joints canyon, Brown Canyon.

Brown Canyon is just north of Kanab, the main canyon in the White Cliffs between Kanab Creek and Johnson Canyon. I had explore the west fork a few months before this trip and found the three rappels and the nice, albeit short slot section.

For this adventure we wanted to do the technical sections and then enjoy the backpacking for a few miles and campout.

Trip was going awesome!

We made it down the technical sections with just a few scrapes on the poor canyon NOOBs knuckles and a few scuffs on backpacks. Spent a good hour and half in the slot section takin' fun pictures.

We then continued down Brown Canyon to where I had asked a friend to cache some water for us. All in all we did about 5 miles to the cache. Nice easy hike, saw some amazing looking sites that I'll have to go explore soon.

We got to the camp set everything up, got a fire going, hung out talking and hiking around, again i saw some awesome looking areas that i'll have to go check out.

Then at about 9 pm the three decided they didn't want to sleep on the ground, but wanted a hotel bed....

Oh well, I'll be out there again someday soon.

We hiked the rest of the way to the car that night, just over 7 miles.
