Would you identify this as a Mountain Lion

Is that really a normal sound they make or is this one just an anomaly?

My dog is going batshit, lol.

I don't remember ever hearing it, or at least, identifying it. I will now...

Correction: Beck just watched it and recalls hearing it when we were camped in our RV several years ago in southern Utah in PJ forest. The next morning she saw an impression near in the ground under a tree she always wondered about.

Makes me wonder if I haven't heard it before but gave it no attention. Rest assured I'll be paying attention from now on .

Are you kidding me - that is the sound I make when I realize I've got six more miles to go before I get to camp and I'm only hiking eight miles to begin with! :) I still haven't seen a cougar in the wild and it would be one of the highlights of my backpacking career to see one before I hang my pack up for good. Thanks for sharing @Bob .

I have heard that sound before. I always thought it was a bird. Means I was close to a lot more cougars than I ever knew. Its an unusual cat call. Crazy! Thanks for sharing!

Wow! Like others have said, I know I've heard that sound many times while hiking. Never would have thought it was a cougar. Now I know...
