Man, the weather this weekend and next week in the Escalante area looks to be stellar! I'll be in Coyote Gulch Sunday through most of next week. Where you going to enjoy this fine weekend?

I want to get out friday and saturday since I have a lull before finals, but not sure if I will. regardless I'm going to Brighton's closing day Sunday so I'll have that for sure. weather last week was not pleasant, too bad I was a week off

Driving some folks round the Cathedral Valley loop on Saturday, probably a short hike somewhere Sunday afternoon. Hoping to find the first cactus bloom.

Did you find any cacti in bloom Bob? I saw my first Claret Cups so far this year on the Golden Throne trail yesterday.

oh nice, they are in bloom now.
I saw them all in buds two weeks ago on that trail and was wondering when they will open up.

They're working on it. I only saw two that had blooms, and the second one only had one flower in bloom, but I was pretty happy to see the flowers starting to blossom.

Yeah it did. It was pretty hot for April. It looks like we're having back to back weird weather years, but on opposite ends of the spectrum.

it felt like summer last week in Buffalo, but today it was snowing several inches.
The temperature plummeted from mid70s and low 80s two 32F.

I posted in the Spring in the Desert thread - found two next to the Temple of the Moon, it's awfully dry out there!
