I am looking at getting a new water filter system. I have always used the Katadyn pump filters, but recently I have been doing some research on the Sawyer Mini. I was wondering if anyone uses this and what your thoughts are on it?

I have the Sawyer Squeeze (the full sized version). It has worked well for me and I've used it in the swamps of Eastern North Carolina. The mini is a little lighter but has the same size filter (0.1 Microns absolute). The only issue is having to squeeze to get rapid filtration, and it can get tiring depending on the amount of water you desire. I would highly recommend either.

I have the mini it is great when water is plentiful. Not ideal for filling another container like a bladder or something. It works awesome and I've used it and never worried about it. It's almost indestructible which is nice. I fill other water bottles with dirty water and carry them the scres c the mini on them and use it like a straw. I know there's a way you can put it in line in you bladder just not sure how it works. Another great filter is the msr miniworks it works great is light weight and filters pretty quick.
