I dunno, but seems to say a drainage that is facing west with switchbacks that climb on a southward facing slope... tunnels of green happen a lot with gambel oak and maple, as does a river becoming a creek and then a spring... so Ferguson kinda fits that, but so do a good handful of other drainages.
