I think I am going to try to shoot for this trip starting on September 9th at the Wallowa Lake trailhead. It will be me and 2 border collies. Does anyone have any suggestions/do you think this is a possible trip? The picture is in the thumbnail.IMG_0921.PNG

Looks like a great trip. As long as you and your dogs are in good enough shape for it, it should be fun. I would make sure that the 2 dogs have plenty of trail time before-hand to toughen up their pads (the trails look like there's potential for lots of abrasive substrate on them).

If it was me, I would investigate cutting south from Ice Lake either to Razz Lake or to the E-W basin east of Razz Lake and then cutting around the ridge to Unit Lake to avoid backtracking along the trail on my way to Mirror Lake. You may be cliffed out if you try to drop down into Razz Lake (hard to tell) but the option east of that looks doable. I might do the same coming off Eagle Cap and head down past Glacier Lake to the trail to Frazier Lake. Of course, if you want to day hike Eagle Cap without the weight of a full pack, it makes sense to backtrack to camp and pack up then.

Anyway, enjoy the trek. Looks like a fun, scenic trip.
