Made two way-out-of-the-way stops on our return to CA from Yellowstone, one in Wyoming and one in Nevada. Due to unforeseen circumstances I ended up being rushed at both locations and only got to see a portion of what's out there. The petroglyphs in both areas are unique and I hope I get the chance to revisit them sometime in the future when I can spend more time.

Reminds me of some of the Desert Archaic petroglyphs I've seen near the Great Salt Lake. Can't say whether or not they're actually the same style, but if they are, they're over a thousand years old at least. Awesome stuff!
 
These in Wyoming have been marked on my map to visit for a while. That is a bit out of the way! but really cool to see more of them.

Yes there's another spot nearby that is supposed to be even better but it requires a permit from the reservation. I was planning to do both but it just didn't work out.
