Uintas this weekend?

Anyone else heading up there? Forecast is looking pretty wet! But classes have started and a friend from out of town is visiting so we don't have any scheduling leeway. Anyhow stop and say hi if you run across us in W Fork Blacks Fork.

Well we had a super nice time, except that my friend from sea level had some minor elevation-related issues. It rained quite a lot but not when we were setting up or breaking camp, nor during meals, so no big deal at all. Very little wind or lightning. As far as we could tell we had W Fork Blacks Fork entirely to ourselves, nobody at all at Dead Horse Lake. A monster herd of sheep was being herded out of the canyon just as we arrived Friday morning. The river was running pretty high, we declined to ford it after watching a couple of big pickups make it look ugly, though there was a rav4 at the 4wd parking when we exited today, so I guess it couldn't have been that bad . Lots of water everywhere, very wet up there, sloppy hiking conditions! Ejod Lake was fuller than I've seen it, quite pretty compared to when it's lower.

Makes sense given the rain, but not what I'd expect for a mid-September trip in the Uintas!

just a lot of rain this summer I guess. there was also some pretty serious recent bank erosion along the river here!
