So I decided to take the family camping this past weekend to the Uinta's. I was reading Summit 's post about the Fairy Forest and thought that would be cool to show my son. We headed up Friday around noon and grabbed a spot at Shady Dell. I wanted to stay higher up, but the wife gets cold easy and I just didn't want to make the family uncomfortable. The temp's were around the mid 70's on Friday to low 80's on Saturday. It did frost on Friday night. So not bad weather at all.
And a sunset that looked like it would have been really cool had the mountain not been there.
Saturday we walked over to the Fairy Forest to look around. This place is a really cool little place that seems to be growing yearly. There is some pretty good art work in there as well.
Bowling anyone?
This was my sons favorite piece of art.
I'm not going to post any other pictures so others can see all the cool things for themselves.
This place must have taken a long time to get to point it is now. Kids and adults would dig this. As Summit said it might be a wet or dry creek that you cross. It was a trickle on Saturday.
After the Fairy Forest we drove to town for some lunch. We then headed further up the highway to check out the higher elevations. From Shady Dell to Butterfly Lake it was about a 10 degree difference in temps.
