Taking your hammock setup to the ground?

Is this possible without some redundant gear? I can't think of a versatile ground insulation that works for both. Pads in a hammock don't get a lot of love and underquilts don't work on the ground. Am I missing something? Or is carrying both not too redundant?

I use a reflective auto-shade made with a thin sheet of styrofoam as my "pad" (weighs almost nothing) for insulating me in my hammock. If I were to go to ground with it, I can combine it with a lightweight Klymit Inertia X-Frame. I can fill the holes in the X-frame with jacket, clothing, etc for increased comfort. Most other sleeping pads may work well with a double-layered hammock. Alternatively, I've also made an underquilt out of emergency blanket (again, weighs almost nothing) following a youtube video (below) that actually works surprisingly well and then you can carry a lightweight pad if you anticipate having to stay in an area where you have to go to ground.
