Mother Nature always laughs last. This morning I had finished up breakfast and was talking with a friend on the phone when there was a knock on the door. A neighbor, here to talk about the tree.

What tree?

The one that blow over last night and landed on our house.

Hmmm. I guess I better check that out...

insurance company called. Claim initiated. Tree service called -- and responded in fifteen minutes!

Neighbors reassured.

Time for lunch.

Is that your neighbor's tree? That can get complicated.

Thank goodness the tree wasn't much larger! Wild weather you guys are having over there right now!

Yes it is. And it's not stopping any time soon. 70MPH winds the night this tree fell---and that's after about two weeks of rain that saturrated the soil.

The good news? This is having an effect on our endless drought.

The bad news? Primary reservoirs in California are still only about 50% full. We're still in the damn drought.

Wishing all of you out in California the best! Talked to a friend in Sacramento. A big tree in a neighbor's yard fell across some power lines and now there is like 350,000 people without power. He said trees are down all over in Sacramento. Hope you are faring well in all of that crazy weather. Kayla
