See some what? Shenandoah is a beautiful park, no question. Old Rag mountain was the "secret spot" way back when (I have lived in VA twice in my life). I believe the park is very visited now and has significant rules on where one can camp, etc. so for seeing say....fall leaves, this is the place to go. Many trails too, but I wouldn't expect a wilderness experience. A metaphor may be to compare the AT to the Pacific Crest Trail or something similar to that.
It is a beautiful place and vistas of hardwood trees with summer mist is a view different than what we have here in the West where I live now.
