Last weekend was the first time I have kayaked since April. Felt good to get back in the boat in such an amazing place. The Nolichucky River is a southeast classic, free flowing gem in an incredibly beautiful, deep, remote mountain gorge. At lower flows its an easy class 3+ run, at higher water the first 2 miles are solid class 4 big water.
The put in is in North Carolina and you take out near Erwin, Tennessee. 8 miles of good times, and you paddle right into your camp...with cold beer minutes away.
Not much whitewater action here, I just wanted to dust off the GoPro and practice some editing. Its been too long...
