Hello everyone - New to the site, looks awesome.

Moved to Utah @4 years but ago but just got called to be a Scoutmaster:) I've decided to take my troop backpacking as much as possible but don't know the area yet. I could definitely use some suggestions on where to take them!

I have one word for you....."Uintas"!

There are some great "over niters" that are good to see what everyone is capable of and what equipment works and does not. Depends on where you are at in Utah. From the Wasatch front to the beautiful Uintas.

I'm in eagle mountain so the Wasatch is closer. We did one trip in the Uintas to Lake Cuberant by Mirror Lake area (3 miles each way). It was great, but with a 2 hour drive there, we ended up pitching our tents in the dark. I would leave earlier but have to wait till school gets out and with winter coming I need to find something closer for our next outing.

There are the Wasatch front, good source to start with is wasatchhiker.com and you do have the Oquirrh mountains near you. I hiked Kelsey peak years ago with a bunch of 12 year olds. It was good. I cant remember if there are places to camp there.
