I finally got around to organizing my first "gear room" since I moved here in July. I saw some other posts on this forum for gear storage and thought I'd share my new favorite room in the house. The room is not complete ... yet ..... and any suggestions outside of "take your OCD medicine" will be well received & greatly appreciated!

This is a very complicated case, this gear room ..... you know, a lotta ins, a lotta outs, a lotta what-have-yous. And, uh, a lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head.

Now that you have your storage room, you need a staging/packing room with smoker and dehydrator... and like was already mentioned, you dont have nearly enough yet...

The first pic it looked like alot, then in the second, not so much... Looks good though.

Not sure what the ceiling is like, but hanging strong hooks from it can work well. I've done that before for sleeping bags, backpacks, etc etc. My neighbors have all sorts of gear hanging from their garage ceiling from strong hooks (their garage is their gear room. It's a bit epic).

And, I'm slightly jealous of yours. My gear "room" is stuffed under the bed, in the closet, in the kitchen, in the laundry room, in the shed out back, in my truck.... ;).

first, awesome. Second, awesome, third, if you truly were obsessive compulsive you would say CDO rather than OCD, because the letters are in correct order...like they're supposed to be. ;)

Seriously though, it looks good and organized. You do need more gear. Pics on the walls would be good just to keep you dreaming. And I strongly suggest the strong hooks in the ceiling for hanging stuff. The optimal gear room has a space to keep all your stuff just the way you use it (e.g. pads inflated, sleeping bags out, etc.) My garage is my current gear shed, and it's a little too much. I have it organized but it's crazy. I'm actually moving it to a storage unit (in preparation of selling our house).

Anyway, I really like it. Well done.

Salud!

My new house has a 3 car garage and I had hoped that the 3rd garage could serve as my gear room. Yeah, it didn't all fit. So now I have a gear room in the garage and a gear room in the house. I'm not sure I like having them separated like that (you can't bask in the glory of all the gear at the same time!), so you've inspired me to rethink my gear organization.

Good work!
