I went up with two friends, Evan and Blake and their labs to Naturalist Basin over September 4th-6th. This was the first time up there for any of us and it was well worth the trip. Temps were in the 60's at day and around 40 degrees at night. We based on the south side of Jordan Lake. On Friday we hiked up to Faxom and Shaler Lake and some of the ponds in between. There were only a few people there, which was great. Lots of fresh scat, but no sighting of deer, elk or moose. We hiked out on Saturday.

Evan and I stopped in Kamas to make sure we replenished all of those burnt calories. Each bottle has 1080 calories in it. I finished mine off and about half of the apple fritter. Darigold, best chocolate milk!!!

That trip is always fun. Thanks for sharing. 1080 CALORIES!!!!! Wow! That's impressive. Just thinking about it puts me into pre-diabetes.

Salud!

Sweet TR and awesome pics! The choco milk+apple fritter combo makes me a bit nauseas though. What ever happened to a good old fashioned cheeseburger after a hike!?!?!

Not sure about the apple fritter....but I love having chocolate milk after a long hike....usually keep a few in the cooler :)

Great pics! I love donuts, but like @IntrepidXJ said, not sure about one after a trip like that. All down with the chocolate milk though! Science shows it's a good recovery drink. :)

No more apple fritters!!! I could have downed both of the chocolate milks though. Cheeseburger....mmmmmm, with some chocolate milk please.
