What are your influences? What style do you like most?

There's a lot of things that Influence my music. Some of the more prevalent influences are emotions and nature. A lot of the songs i make are expressions of experiences. when I make a song its usually an attempt to recreate and express a certain time, place, and feeling.

Out of all the styles and genres I produce I would have to say Trip Hop is my favorite because it gives me the freedom to create whatever I want Trip hop is really a genre without boundaries that's what i like about it.

Wow man. That's actually really good! I just scanned through the first 4 or 5 songs and going to let it play while I peruse the other new posts, just got home from backpacking!

And FWIW, I have absolutely no musical skill but I sure as hell can appreciate it! :)

Thanks man all my music is free to download so if you hear anything you really like you can download it by clicking the downward arrow in the play box.

Nice where did you go backpacking?

Awesome. i've been listening to it for close to an hour now and even more impressed. I'm gonna have to give it a few more listens to narrow it down but definitely going to download my favs and put them on the phone. Excellent work.

hahah that sample is from the movie UHF if you haven't seen it its for sure worth a watch its really funny.
"We don't need no stinking badgers!!!"

going to check your tunes now.
i do beats too - but a bit more abstract & broken beat influenced. was doing a more trip hop/ninja tune influenced thing back in the late nineties/early 00's though.
there are some experimental ambient guitar tracks on my page too. i'm musically schizophrenic. ;)

I checked out your music man you have some pretty cool stuff its quite different i like it. you have some really unique sounds. what programs do you use for sound synthesis?
oh and by the way ninja tune is the cats pajamas! some of my favorite artists are on that label.

In terms of programs, I don't use any (i used audacity to record the tracks & tweak levels and reverb a bit). I just got Ableton Live & a controller is on the way and I'm excited to start using it. The tracks on Soundcloud were created solely on a Korg ESX Rhythm Sampler. the guitar stuff was created using a boss loopstation and a bunch of effects pedals.

dennargle , if you want to hear more of my stuff. i have a bandcamp page too. 3 albums worth of free downloads, all previewable.

cool man ill check out your other music. that's interesting you hardly use any programs to create your tunes. for me its the exact opposite i have a midi keyboard and a boatload of sampling and synthesizing programs that i use.

would you be interested in swapping some remixes? I really want to put some dennargle flavor into your song the sun after the storm.

definitely. I am slowly but surely transferring parts from my ESX sampler to Live, but it is tedious, as I have to manually record each part as a clip since I don't use many loops. add to that the beginning of tourist season here and my schedule is pretty full, but I'll try to get to it sooner than later.
I'll head over to your soundcloud page and work on pickin out one of yours for me to remix, too.
should be fun. right now i am figuring out my logistics using Live & my new controller (Novation Impulse). pretty easy learning curve so far.

alright sounds good man. well just let me know when your ready to swap remixes. just out of curiosity what do you do in the tourism industry?
