I recognize the flaws in mountain-forecast, but I find it very useful when planning trips that involve peakbagging, which just about every trek and hike I do involves some of that. It mostly helps with what I can expect for wind at the top elevations and how much I should expect the temperature to drop as I'm hiking. Providing data for a few points really helps me plan. It's the mountains, after all, nothing is perfect.

Windy.com is worth checking out. It's all a little cluttered and complicated, but there is a lot of cool information there. It's perhaps more suitable for PC use at home, rather than on a hike.

For any location, it's possible to select from one of 6 (!) sources of weather data. I like to click on 'compare' and see all 6 displayed together (see below for Moab), and then I can choose which forecast I prefer

There is also a nice time-lapse option on the Weather Radar option, although I notice that the 6 and 12 hour selections are now only available if you pay for a subscription.

Had windy on my phone...... Couldn't figure info like you say... A learning curve so gave up
