Morocco Canyon has eluded me for years now. Every Time I have tried to run that canyon, something happened that made it so I couldn't. Well, not this time! I was attending a Canyon Rescue Course at North Wash Outfitters, and we had a free morning that Friday. It didn't take much to convince my classmates to wake up early and run Morocco Canyon during our time off!

The canyon was great! One of the best mini slots I have done. Since it didn't take long to run, and because we had time still, we decided to go through the canyon twice! Second time with minimal gear, and extra rope!

Enjoy the video :D

Thanks Vegan :) It was a fun canyon.

So what makes a good outdoor video in your guys view? you say this one is "great", what makes it great? what could be done differently.

I think it depends on what your objective is. I've made a few hiking videos and I make them first and foremost as an artifact to preserve my memories so I can look back on them as the years pass. I like to share them with others if they are interested but that's secondary for me. I'd like to improve the quality of the videos but only because I think it would be fun to learn new skills and be creative. If your objective is to become really good at outdoor cinematography and are looking for technical tips I believe @steve could help you. He's given me some great advice on that stuff. I think if you watch it and it makes you happy and brings back great memories, that's all that really matters.

As far as watching other people's videos; the right music selection really makes a video stand out to me. But we all have different tastes in music, so you can't please everyone.

And what made your video great to me was the variety of action shots and angles. It was also a really cool creative shot of the slo mo dive into the water. You're editing skills are way beyond mine and I was very impressed.

Thanks for the feedback :) I will have to reach out to steve and get some pointers. Im with ya though. The biggest bag for these TR's, Blogs, and Videos are for a good history record. I know I am grateful for everyone's TR's. they help give me great ideas of where to go next! I wouldn't have seen nearly as much amazing stuff if it were not for forums like these!

Great video. I especially liked the second half. Good use of slomo and faster speeds on a few of the raps.

Everyone's got their favorite editing/storytelling style. I love to hear occasional dialogue from the participants, but that's just me.

YES! Adding dialog is something I need to start doing more of. I tried a bit of that with this video.

It was my first time doing such a thing. even though I have much to learn to improve it, the added dialogue add a whole other dimension to action videos.
