Hey all, planning for this weekends overnight. Looking at a simple short overnighter in LCW. It was suggested to me to go up to Ute creek TH from there it is 6 miles to Bison Peak, 3,300ft gain. I would stop along the way and make camp in the tree line. Then hike up to the peak (assuming there isn't an afternoon storm). Come back enjoy some dinner. Then in the morning if I'm feeling good hit the McCurdy peak then head down.
The friend I spoke to was just up there Tuesday and said there is still snow that I can melt for water so I don't have to carry as much.
Any info, tips, suggestions on this itinerary ? TIA
