Ivanpah Solar Complex, Mojave National Preserve

Driving back to Colorado from San Diego on I-15 I had some time for photography, and something I missed in the dark on my way south a few days earlier came into view. A remarkable, immense solar array. Essentially all of those light reflectors concentrate the reflected light to the boilers at top of the towers. Pretty cool. All of these shots are from pull of areas on I-15, the Mojave Desert is a place I have not spent time in lately, but was a favorite place to go when we lived in California. I loved the subtle colors in these rocky mountains, reds, yellows, green, purple. I hope you enjoy the few photos.
