Hello hello! I've found this site to be very useful over the last couple of years for hiking/backpacking research, so a big thanks to all of you who post trip reports and whatnot. Thought I might as well join in the fun. I don't do much backpacking out here in Kansas, but I am not afraid of lots of driving followed immediately by lots of walking 
. most recently I did a short but fascinating one-nighter trip down in northwestern New Mexico which included petroglyphs, an arch, and slot canyon. maybe I'll post a belated report on that, since part of it was a rarely visited area.
