This is a day hike in Western Colorado to Rattlesnake Arches on Friday May 31st, 2024.

The hike is roughly 14 miles round trip, and 2,500 feet of elevation gain. It is an out and back and not a loop, so be prepared to take the same trail back once at the Arches. Be Prepared For This Hike.

This hike is nearly 100% exposed with zero water and hot desert conditions. I have only found water in small potholes once and it was on this trip, and was not good quality water, yet if you treated it, it would suffice. I have done this hike 5 or 6 times, and it is always stunning.

Generally you will be the only hiker once past the Pollock Bench turnoff. Start this hike early to beat the heat, bring more than a gallon of water, snacks, and sun protection. This is a beautiful secluded area with some impressive arches at the end of the hike.

The canyon below the arches is stunning as well, and a great place to take a break and enjoy the views

I hope you like this video, thanks for watching.

Safe Trails!!
