Hiking Polo Shirt?

I really like the backcountrypost t-shirts but have discovered I much prefer to hike in a polo shirt, mostly because I usually have my camera strap round my neck. It also keeps a bit more sun off my neck. Anybody have a recommendation for a wicking polo type shirt - doesn't need to be dressy but I like them to be untucked so probably won't have a tail (but who's going to see it anyway?)

I found one that North Face makes, I've worn it into the Wind Rivers and down in Northern Arizona on trips and love it:

I just picked one up from Old Navy, it's one of their performance wear polos. For the price, it's been a good shirt. I've yet to wear it on a pack trip.

Like you, I love the polo's. I have found that my Bino's-fly fishing gear that I wear around my neck rub with T-shirts.

I just purchased a couple of the long sleeve Columbia Silver Ridge shirts. I'm trying to hide my skin from the sun as I tend to burn. So far I like these a lot. I believe they make them in short sleeves as well.

I'm partial to wool--I like the Ibex polos. (Warning--once you try them you might never wear anything else.)

I have a wicking polo that I picked up for $4 at the DI. If you don't mind logos, you can score some pretty good synthetic polos at thrift stores. A lot of corporate types buy them for employees, who them dump them as good will.

That's a great idea, next time I go to Cedar City I will take a look.

I'll go looking for that North Face shirt. I too can't wear t-shirts much. Sure wish I could get a BCP polo, cotton, synth or otherwise.... I wear my BCP T mostly in bed and no, there are no hero shots!

My favorite hiking shirts are retired cotton button ups. I too like the collar, for sun protection. I also think the thin cotton dries fast enough for my needs.

I'll put a BCP logo on anything you've got, free of charge. :)
