Hello from central Utah!

It's not only about Utah, but a large majority of the members here live in and around Utah which has made it mainly about Utah and the surrounding areas so far...

Welcome. It'd be interesting to see a membership breakout by State and even more interesting to compare those figures between now and this time last year to see if there's been any change. I wonder if Nick has that on hand? If I had to take a guess, like on the Price is Right, I'd guess 89% are from Utah.

89% United States, but nowhere near that from Utah.

That of course is just where the traffic comes from. I guess the only measure to see what the actual content is all about would be to tag every trip report with a geo location. I'd bet it's like 2/3-3/4 Utah.
 
that's traffic, not members, right? also i'd still be super interested in having trips tagged with a location. make it easy to see what's in a particular area. : )

Correct. I picked up a little plugin today that would create a live map that would show the geo location of everyone on the site at any given time. Members, guests, and even robots. All based off IP address so it just shows the town, not the specific address. And it doesn't show who, just a nameless pin on a map. If there's interest, I could install it.

I really need to get on that trip report tagging project.... :(
 
Damn. The server-side geolocation module that makes that map work conflicts with some other location tracking software that has successfully killed off all spam for the last few months. I'll see if there's a work around, but I love the spam prevention way too much to give it up.

I was going to say Greenland, but it looks like we've had 6 visits from there in the last 3 years. Looks like there's a few countries in Africa that have yet to get on the BCP bandwagon. :)

Holy crap, Nick has this web analytics thing nailed down like a boss. I'm kind of embarrassed that he probably knows how much time I actually spend on here!

Haha! Fortunately I only know about the broad picture, not anything about individual people! For example, the average visit duration is just over 5 minutes long and each user visits about 3.5 pages on each visit. :)
