Hello all! My wife and I discovered hiking just a couple years ago and first visited southern Utah over Memorial Day week in 2013, and fell in love with it. Went back last Memorial Day week and are going back again this Memorial Day week (you might could see a pattern emerging). So far we have done some day hikes and overnight backpacks in Zion, Bryce, GSENM, Capitol Reef, and the Arizona Strip. We love Zion, did a few hours in the Narrows the first year, as a side trip on our way to GSENM, then did from the top down on an overnight last year and want to go back whenever we can to do more trails. The main trip on the first year was Coyote Gulch, we went down through Crack and camped under the big alcove just past Hamblin Arch (one of Backpacker's best campsites in the USA). Last year in addition to the Narrows, we rented a canoe and went down the Colorado from Glen Canyon Dam to Lee's Ferry, overnighting in Horseshoe Bend. Then went out to Toroweap to enjoy the view and solitude. This year we are renting a canoe and going down the Green River in Canyonlands NP, then hiking from Spanish Bottom up to the Dollhouse and maybe hike out to the Harvest Scene. Hopefully we will also have time to go to False Kiva. We've also done some hiking and backpacking in North Cascades NP, Denali NP, Kenai Fjords NP, Cutler Coast, Maine, Acadia NP, Franconia Ridge, NH, and several local areas. Anywho, I enjoy reading all of y'all's posts and learning more about those wonderful areas in Utah. So much to do and so little time to do it. I didn't start hiking until I turned 50 (and realized I needed to make time to see the things I wanted to see and do the things I wanted to do while I still could), so I probably won't get to all the cool places I would like to in the area (still haven't won a Wave lottery yet), but can visit them vicariously through BCP. Thanks.
