I do a good bit of fly fishing in the provo, green river and lower weber. but not a whole lot in the uintas so my question is what flies to use in early summer?
thanks!
Small black flies. The renegade is my favorite up there, but anything similar will usually do the job. I like the renegade because it works well wet or dry. I've also had good luck with royal wulff, elk hair caddis and foam beatle-type flies. For wet flies, streamers are good, as are bead head hares ears. I don't know if it would work well on a fly rod, but tan/black maribou jigs are great too.
