Dinosaur Monument/Vernal Area

I'm taking my wife, some friends and father in law out for two nights of camping this labor day weekend and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for great back country car camp sites and things to see in the Vernal and the Dinosaur Monument utah area. I know almost nothing about the area so the only things we know to do is the main quarry and moonshine arch. We usually have gone camping in the swell and moab so we wanted to try something new.

Edit: Forgot to mention we are headed there from the Provo area so any pit stops between would be great too.

What kind of vehicle will you be in?

2015 Honda fit, with somewhere near 5 inches of clearance when loaded, so not really able to deal with much. I recently managed to get it down hole in the rock road all the way to the willow gulch trailhead but some parts were pretty sketchy and abusive.
