I gave Des Peak a try yesterday (June 19) and ran into continuous snow around 9300 feet. This is more or less at the base of the headwall of whatever gully the regular trail takes. I was wearing worn-out sneakers and the headwall looked too risky. It's in great condition if you have an axe and mountain boots, though, as are the twin couloirs (for a few more days, at least). Trail should be good to go for hikers in a week or two.

We were supposed to overnight in S Willow last weekend and then head up Saturday morning, but my friends bugged out. Now I can live vicariously- thanks. It is such a good relatively lesser known gem.
