I may get a couple days around Cedar Mesa in October. I live in Wisconsin, and during the nine day gun deer season, it's not a good idea to be in the woods without some blaze orange.

What's it like around Comb Ridge and Grand Gulch in October? Are there enough hunters that it's an issue?

I've been there a few times in October and have never seen a hunter (or a deer for that matter) so I doubt it's an issue.

The only place I have seen hunters in Bears Ears was on Sweet Alice road. It was off-season, and they were scouting.

yeah maybe I should add there there were 4-5 vehicles worth of people scouting (I assume for deer) when I was on the Elk Ridge Road last October. so I would assume the Dark Canyon Plateau gets plenty of hunters. but down on Cedar Mesa proper, wouldn't worry.

Thanks. I figured that was the case, since Utah has more land and fewer hunters than Wisconsin.

I've been to Utah a number of times but never in the fall.

Check out the Utah fishing and hunting website to check
