Hi-

I am planning on basing out of Bluff for 5 nights the first week of February to do some hiking at Cedar Mesa and Comb Ridge. Can anyone tell me how the snowpack and road conditions are looking in the area? Are there any particular areas that are better this time of year (guessing I should focus on lowest elevation hikes I can find or canyon bottoms w/o icy slickrock)? Also thought about checking out Chesler Park/Druid Arch on my drive to/from Grand Junction if conditions would be better there. I'm planning on bringing my ice grippers which seem like they'd be useful on frozen creek bottoms but not so much on icy slickrock.

14 day forecast looks like above average temps.

Thanks for any guidance!

I spent the morning around the northern end of Comb Ridge today. No snow, no ice, no mud. Very dry. Probably the driest I’ve seen it out here at this time of the year. Barely any snow on the Abajos, either…

It has been scary dry in that part of the world so far this winter. Basically no snow at all and too warm!
