I was just digging around the web looking for a cot that I could mount to my raft frame and sleep lengthwise down the middle of the boat. My search led me to Cabela's where I found this 10.8 pound 'lightweight cot' that they say is ideal for backpacking. Thought you guys might get a laugh out of it. Also, who is going to carry one for me on our next backpacking trip? To make it fair, I'll carry the water filter and the stove. :D

I'll carry the cot if you carry all the folding chairs!

Gotta find some sucker to carry the espresso machine and beer keg though.

Trying to figure out if the comfort benefit is enough to ditch my 8oz NeoAir X-Lite 3/4 length pad...

You'd also need a foam pad, or something similar, to provide insulation on the bottom.

I'd like to see its packed size. Would probably take up half the space in my pack.

Interesting, I'm trying to conceptualize the best way to build an easy to remove sleeping platform in my suv. This would be a light lighter and more comfortable than something made of 3/4" plywood and 2x4's. Will investigate.

There are a lot of similar designs out there that keep it low to the ground. I could see it being nice in an SUV because you could level it out by just sticking a rock or a piece of wood or something under the pertinent leg(s). I think I'm going to try a Roll-a-Cot on my raft: https://www.camptime.com/

I have a roll-a-cot, which I use in my car camping tent, along with a Helinox chair. It's all quite comfy. I use a cheap Coleman tent with a floor that's made out of plastic tarp type material. It's not quite like a motel, but it's nice.

There's a lighter short cot that came up on Massdrop this morning. It's
Byer of Maine Tri Lite Cot 7000 Series
It features little legs and I think it said it was 5.6 pounds.
