I've been lurking around BCP for a good while now, planning trips and making a long list of trips for the near and distant future. I've done quite a bit of hiking, but I'm a rookie when it comes to backpacking. I come from the Midwest. Family vacations when I was younger were always to Montana, Idaho, and Utah to see family, so I've been fascinated by the wildness and open skies of the Western states for a long time. I've lived in Utah for the last five years. Anyway, I love reading trip reports, so I decided I should contribute and join the BCP community.
